The BSS School, located at 51, Gariahat Road, Kolkata - 700019, is firmly committed to respecting and protecting the personal and academic privacy of our students, parents, guardians, faculty, and website visitors. This Privacy Policy outlines how student and parent records are collected, utilized, and guarded under applicable Indian laws, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023.

1. Information We Collect

When you register for admission, access our Student Portal, make online fee payments, or utilize The BSS School Campus Mobile App, we may collect:

  • Student Identity Data: Full legal name, date of birth, blood group, gender, Aadhaar card number, photograph, and assigned Student UID.
  • Parent / Guardian Details: Names, residential addresses, official mobile numbers, email addresses, occupations, and emergency contact numbers.
  • Academic Records: Attendance statistics, periodic examination scores, teacher assessments, CBSE/CISCE registration identifiers, and extracurricular achievements.
  • Financial Transaction Records: Bank transaction reference numbers, payment timestamps, and receipt tokens. (Note: The BSS School never stores debit/credit card numbers, CVVs, or online banking passwords; all payments are processed through RBI-authorized payment gateways).

2. How Your Information is Utilized

Personal and academic information is strictly utilized for educational administrative operations, including:

  • Registration with the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), New Delhi.
  • Generating genuine academic progress cards, student identity cards, and transfer certificates.
  • Sending emergency school advisories, storm warnings, holiday circulars, and fee due reminders via SMS, WhatsApp, and the Campus Mobile App.

3. Data Security & Storage

All student databases and digital portal communications are protected with 256-bit SSL encryption, automated multi-factor authentication for staff access, and firewalled cloud databases hosted in secure Indian data centers. We never sell, rent, or trade student records to commercial third-party advertisers under any circumstance.

Refund / Cancellation Policy

Governing Tuition, Admission, Transport & Examination Fee Payments

This Refund and Cancellation Policy governs all monetary transactions conducted through The BSS School fee portals, payment aggregators, and bank remittance counters. Parents and guardians are requested to review these terms carefully prior to initiating transactions.

1. Duplicate / Erroneous Online Payments

In the event that a technical glitch, network delay, or browser timeout causes a duplicate debit from the parent's bank account or credit card for the same quarter's school fees:

  • The parent must report the duplicate transaction to accounts@thebssschool.com within 7 working days, attaching both bank transaction reference receipts.
  • Upon bank reconciliation and verification by our Accounts Department, the excess amount will be refunded directly to the original source bank account within 10 to 14 working days, or adjusted against the upcoming quarter's fee voucher upon parent request.
Notice Regarding Admission & Registration Fees:
The application form registration fee, prospectus fee, and one-time admission processing fee are strictly non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances, even if an admitted student chooses not to attend the school.

2. Withdrawal of Admission & Tuition Fee Refund Schedule

If a parent submits a formal written application for withdrawal of their ward prior to or after the commencement of the academic session:

  • Withdrawal at least 30 days prior to session start: Quarterly tuition fee paid in advance will be refunded after deduction of a nominal administrative processing fee (Rs. 1,000/-). Admission fees remain non-refundable.
  • Withdrawal after commencement of the academic term: Tuition fees for the running quarter are non-refundable. Security deposits (caution money), if applicable, will be refunded in full upon return of all school library books, sports equipment, and clearance of any unpaid dues.

3. Examination & Board Registration Fees

Examination fees collected on behalf of the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) for ICSE (Class X) and ISC (Class XII) board candidates are remitted directly to the Council and are strictly governed by CISCE regulations. The school cannot process refunds once registration data is transmitted.

4. Mode of Processing Approved Refunds

All approved refunds are executed exclusively through electronic bank transfer (NEFT/RTGS) or credited back to the original payer card. Cash refunds will not be issued under any circumstance.

Welcome to The BSS School official digital network. By accessing, browsing, or utilizing this website (https://thebssschool.com), our Student Portals, or The BSS School Campus Mobile App, you acknowledge and agree to be legally bound by these Terms and Conditions and all applicable regulations.

1. Authorized Use of Student Portals

Access to the Student Login, Student Fees, and Staff Portal is restricted to currently enrolled students, verified parents/guardians, and authorized employees of The BSS School.

  • Users must maintain the confidentiality of their Student UID, login password, and OTP tokens.
  • Any attempt to bypass security, conduct SQL injections, scrape portal records, or access another student's confidential marks profile will lead to immediate portal deactivation and formal disciplinary action under Indian cyber laws.

2. Intellectual Property Rights

All materials featured on this website—including the official school crest, name "The BSS School", 75th Jubilee emblem, photographs, videos, prospectus literature, syllabus plans, and magazine editions—are the exclusive intellectual property of The BSS School, Ballygunge, Kolkata.

Unauthorized copying, commercial reproduction, or re-distribution of any image, graphic, or publication without prior written consent from the Principal is strictly prohibited.

3. Online Payment Terms

Parents utilizing the online fee gateway agree that:

  • Payments must be made prior to the announced quarterly due date to prevent statutory late fine assessments.
  • Neither The BSS School nor its payment gateway partner shall be held liable for network dropouts, power interruptions, or bank downtime occurring during card/UPI authorization.

4. Code of Conduct & Communication

Parents and visitors submitting feedback through contact forms or WhatsApp messaging are expected to maintain courteous and dignified communication honoring the high moral standards of the institution.

5. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of India. Any dispute arising out of or related to these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Kolkata, West Bengal.
